Students will learn to conduct tests on pulmonary or cardiovascular systems
of patients for diagnostic purposes. During phlebotomy, students will learn to
draw blood for tests, transfusions, donations or research. An EKG technician
may conduct or assist with electrocardiograms, cardiac catheterizations,
pulmonary functions, lung capacity and similar tests. A phlebotomist may explain
the procedure to patients and assist in the recovery of patients with adverse
reactions. In this program, students will learn and prepare for certification in
electrocardiogram (EKG) and phlebotomy technician.
