Veterans who plan to use their GI Bill®* benefits to attend New River Community College should apply for admission using the Checklist for Veteran Students.
Veterans currently living in Virginia should contact the Admissions and Records Office to ensure that you qualify for in-state tuition.
If you are still on active duty, and therefore do not have a DD-214, you will need to provide a copy of your orders and proof of residency in Virginia. Acceptable forms of residency include:
Virginia Driver’s License
Copy of Virginia Income Tax Return
Copy of Virginia Voter Registration Card
