Email Whitelist Approval Procedure

NRCC uses filtering tools on the college email system to block unwanted junk and spam emails. These filtering tools also cause some legitimate emails to be blocked. A whitelist is an exception list that allows emails from selected senders to make it through the spam filters.

NRCC faculty and staff should send requests to the Help Desk for items to be added to the whitelist. Please send any email whitelist request to helpdesk@nr.edu for approval.

Please include as much of the information below as you can.

  • Your name and email address.
  • The email subject should be Email Whitelist Request.
  • The full email address to be whitelisted.
  • The domain name that needs to be whitelisted. The domain name is the part of the email after the @ symbol.
  • The IP address(es) that need(s) to be whitelisted.
  • The reason and/or purpose for the request.

Your request will be reviewed by Support Services, and you might be contacted if more information is needed. The Technology Services staff will send you a notification once a decision has been made.
