Following a directive from the Chancellor, New River Community College will require ALL individuals to wear masks indoors in common areas (hallways, classrooms, student lounge, etc.). This will be effective beginning Thursday, August 5.
Given the current COVID-19 pandemic and other transmissible illnesses common during the fall months, it is imperative that we follow specific health-related best practices. As a condition for attending class or otherwise using NRCC facilities, students will be expected to follow the practices outlined in the Fall 2021 General Health Guidelines and Student Expectations.
New River Community College has created a dashboard to report confirmed on-campus COVID-19 positive cases. The metrics are updated daily based on data reported to the Dean of Student Services and the Director of Human Resources and Business Operations at NRCC.
Beginning August 12, 2021, students enrolled in fall semester classes at NRCC may present their COVID-19 vaccination card and receive a $50 gift card to the NRCC Bookstore.
NRCC provides free emergency notifications to students and the community in the event of a campus emergency or closure. Sign up for NRCC Alert to be notified in the event of a campus closure.
If you are having trouble logging in or have other questions about NRCC Alert, please contact the NRCC Help Desk at (540) 674-3600 x4400 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
