Thank you for choosing New River Community College. This website is designed to guide you through everything you need to do before your first day of classes.
Follow the steps below and contact us at (540) 674-3677 or aslp@nr.edu if you need assistance.
If you are new to college, you are required to complete the new student orientation program. New student orientation includes an online pre-orientation module AND an in-person, half-day session.
This interactive video will orient you to NRCC's online resources, policies and calendars. It should take no more half hour to complete and should be done before your in-person session. After you have enrolled in classes, it may take up to one week before you can access the pre-orientation module.
This session offers personalized advising and an opportunity to get acquainted with all things NRCC, including classmates and connection specialists. You may also use this step later to change your session.
Complete this checklist to tie up any remaining loose ends before classes start, like paying tuition, completing financial aid or finding your textbooks.
...you can provide information that MAY exempt you from new student orientation.
