Forty seven Montgomery County/Radford area students inducted into Phi Theta Kappa at NRCC

One hundred honor students at New River Community College were recently inducted into Phi Theta Kappa (PTK), the national honor society for American Junior and Community Colleges. The induction was part of the college's annual President's Awards Ceremony. At the event, the students also received gold stoles which are traditionally worn at commencement to distinguish them for their outstanding academic achievement.

Membership in PTK is offered to those who achieve academic excellence with a Grade Point Average of 3.2 or higher and are enrolled in an associate degree program.

Of the 100 inductees, 36 were from Montgomery County and 11 were from Radford.
