New River Community College partnered with the Virginia Department of Health to add a One Box to campus. Chris Alderman with Virginia Department of Health donated the One Box to the college through the recovery program. The One Box carries overdose medication and supplies in the event of an opioid overdose. NRCC plans to eventually add a One Box to each building on campus, as well as the Christiansburg site. The college’s recover program provides students with a supportive community to help them academically while in recovery. Recovery services at the college include Narcan training, harm reduction, peer support, student advocacy, community resources, and community outreach.  For more information about the recovery program, contact Chad Fox, NRCC recovery program specialist, at 540-674-3600, ext. 4316 or cfox@nr.edu.

Call (540) 674-3600 or toll-free 1-866-462-6722, then you will be prompted to add the extension number to reach any employee.
