The New River Community College Library provides an effective learning environment and a collection of resources, both physical and digital, that meet our users’ needs and strengthens the instructional programs of the college. The staff is dedicated to providing excellent customer service and instructional support.
The library provides computer workstations for student use. Each is connected to the campus network and provides numerous software programs as well as Internet access. The library supports wireless Internet connections that allow students with personal laptops to connect to the Internet. Laptop computers are available for "in library use only" for a maximum of two hours. These laptops have MS Office loaded for your convenience. Laptops may be check out at the Circulation Desk.
Students may print from computers in the library for all course-related assignments at no charge. Public patrons are requested to keep printing to a minimum with a 10 page limit per day.
A self-service scanner is available in the library. Scans can be saved to a personal storage device, attached to a Canvas assignment, emailed, or printed.
A photocopy machine is located in the library in the copy room of the library. There is a $.10/page fee for photocopies.
Educational media may be viewed in the Virginia Collection room which is equipped with monitors, VCR and DVD players. Students are encouraged to bring personal headphones to ensure viewing privacy.
The library provides access to two microfilm/fiche reader/printers. Please ask for assistance at the Circulation Desk.
