A preparation course for the SAT (the college admission test) is being offered at New River Community College in Dublin on Saturdays from January 11 to February 15. Classes will run from 9 a.m. to noon.
The course will include explanations and reviews of test topics along with math and verbal drills. Helpful hints, tips and shortcuts will also be provided to help students cover all SAT material more quickly.
Meredith Jones and Suzanne Steele will instruct the course. Jones is a math teacher at Pulaski County High School and has taught SAT prep classes for six years. Steele is a retired English teacher from Pulaski County High School and has taught SAT Prep classes for over 20 years. Tuition is $182. Textbook fees of $45 are payable at the first class meeting. Students are also advised to bring a graphing calculator to the class.
