Two sessions of "Enhancing Instruction with iPads" will be offered by New River Community College this fall. The first session will meet on Thursdays from September 26 through November 14 from 4 to 7:30 p.m. The second session will meet on Wednesdays from October 2 through November 20, also from 4 to 7:30 p.m.
Both sessions will be held at the Montgomery County Technology Center, 1180 North Franklin Street in Christiansburg. Additional virtual/online coursework and daily access to an iPad are also required. Julie Craft is the instructor.
The hands-on course will prepare classroom teachers to develop 21st century lessons that integrate the Apple iPad and iTunes resources into daily curriculum and personal teaching style. Participants will learn how to operate and manage iPads, create lessons using resources from iTunes and iTunes U and examine instructional Internet resources.
This is a three-credit course and tuition is $397.65 for in-state students. Registration information is available from the NRCC Office of Workforce Development at 540-674-3600, ext. 4323.
