More than 40 professional skills development courses are being offered this fall through New River Community College's Office of Transitional Programs.
Covering crucial skills used in the workplace, course offerings range from general topics such as computer skills, professional communication, and workplace writing to more specific areas such as preparation for finance careers.
Certificates in areas such as professional communication and workplace writing are also available.
Classes run for five weeks and are generally held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at NRCC in Dublin or Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to noon at the NRCC New River Valley Mall site in Christiansburg. Classes may also be held from 9 a.m. to noon at the Virginia Employment Commission Office in Radford.
Most classes and certificate programs are also available online and the full list may be found at www.nr.edu/adulted/programs.php .
All courses are open to the public and the cost is $10 per five-week course. The first five week session begins Monday, September 23.
