A new series of workshops for businesses and individuals will be offered this summer through New River Community College's Office of Workforce Development in conjunction with the Giles Chamber of Commerce. The courses will take place at the Giles Country Club, 500 Ft. Branch Road in Pearisburg.
"How to use LinkedIn" will be held on Wednesday, July 31, from 9 to 11 a.m. Participants in this course will learn to create a profile on the business networking site LinkedIn, add skills, work with connections and groups, request recommendations, manage e-mail preferences and examine other critical LinkedIn elements.
"Keeping Good Employees," will be held on Thursday, August 15, from 2:30 - 4:30 p.m. This course will include topics like recruiting versus managing employees, how to connect with employees, maintaining good communication and consistency and fairness.
Jeanne Symanoskie, NRCC corporate trainer, will serve as instructor for each course. Courses are open to the public and are $25 per person per seminar, $20 for Giles County Chamber members.
