Free GED preparation classes offered through New River Community College Office of Transitional Programs begin Monday, January 27, in Floyd. Registration is ongoing, but NRCC will have staff on-site at New River Community Action on Wednesday, Jan. 22, from 9 a.m. to noon to assist in registration.
The classes help adults increase their skills to pass the GED exam and prepare for college or a career. Students will prepare to take the GED/high school equivalency exam, prepare for the Virginia Placement Test and learn employability skills.
The preparation classes will be held Mondays from 9 a.m. to noon and Wednesdays from 5 to 8 p.m. at New River Community Action, 120 Epperly Mill Road SW, Floyd.
