One-day computer workshops offered this month

New River Community College will offer three introductory one-day workshops on Microsoft Office Word and Excel programs this month.

“Word: Introduction” familiarizes the student to the Word environment and continues with formatting text, inserting graphics, working with tables and adjusting page layout. This workshop is scheduled Monday, Sept. 18, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in room 143 at the college’s NRV Mall site in Christiansburg (#8666).

“Excel: Introduction” will cover formulas and functions, as well as sorting and filtering information. Participants will use beginning features of Excel to enhance data, such as tables, SmartArt and page formatting. This workshop will be held Tuesday, Sept. 19, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in room 225 Martin Hall at NRCC in Dublin (#8663). It is also offered in Christiansburg on Monday, Sept. 25, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in room 143 at the college’s NRV Mall site (#8669).

Tuition is $115 per workshop which will prepare individuals for Microsoft Office Specialist certification.
