New session for NRCC's professional truck driving course begins this month

Registration is open for New River Community College's professional truck driving course. During the hands-on training, participants will learn truck driving skills and take the Virginia DMV's Class A Commercial Driver's test to obtain a CDL credential.

A new session will begin July 22 and run through Nov. 5. It will be held on Saturdays and Sundays in Roanoke from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Financial assistance is available to those who qualify through Virginia's New Economy Workforce Credential Grant (WCG) program. More information about the WCG is available at http://www.nr.edu/workforce .
