Course Plan

Presents topics in sets, logic, numeration systems, geometric systems, and elementary computer concepts.
Prerequisites: Competency in Math Essentials MTE 1-5 as demonstrated through the placement and diagnostic tests, or by satisfactorily completing the required MTE units or equivalent. (offered as a DE course.)

Course Plan

Presents topics in functions, combinatorics, probability, statistics and algebraic systems.

MTH 157 - Elementary Statistics
Course Plan

Presents elementary statistical methods and concepts including descriptive statistics, estimation, hypothesis testing, linear regression, and categorical data analysis. (Credit will not be awarded for both MTH 157 and MTH 240 or MTH 241.) Prerequisites: Competency in Math Essentials MTE 1-5 as demonstrated through the placement and diagnostic tests, or by satisfactorily completing the required MTE units or equivalent.

Course Plan

Presents college algebra, matrices, and algebraic, exponential, and logarithmic functions.
Prerequisites: Competency in Math Essentials MTE 1-9 as demonstrated through the placement and diagnostic tests, or by satisfactorily completing the required MTE units or equivalent. (Credit will not be awarded for both MTH 163 and MTH 166.)

Course Plan

Presents an overview of statistics, including descriptive statistics, elementary probability, probability distributions, estimation, hypothesis testing, and correlation and regression.
Prerequisites: a placement recommendation for MTH 240 and successful completion of MTH 158, MTH 163, MTH 166, or equivalent.

Presents limits, continuity, differentiation of algebraic and transcendental functions with applications, and an introduction to integration.
