Introductory Letter

The purpose of the Introductory Letter is to introduce yourself to the instructor so that she will know you individually. The letter should include the following:

A cover sheet with the following information:

- Name
- Social Security Number
- Attn: SPD 100 30, 31
- Introductory Letter

• Your background (if you are a full-time student, your program year; if you work, the kind of work you do).
• Career plans or goals that relate to this course, if any.
• Why you enrolled in this course, and what you hope to accomplish with it.
• Two or three paragraphs identifying and summarizing the following class policies:
• Withdrawal policy
• Attendance policy
• Tardiness policy
• Late speech policy
• Speech composition and delivery policy
• Classroom conduct policy
• Workbook policy
• Dress requirements for presentations.
  

The letter should be typed, adhere to the use of standard English with correct grammar, punctuation and spelling. The Introductory letter will be graded and included in the student's class participation grade.
