Welcome to New River Community College! Our motto is "first rate, first choice." Allow me to explain how we can make such a claim.
For over thirty years, NRCC has served the counties of Floyd, Giles, Pulaski, and Montgomery, and the City of Radford through a wide variety of programs, including both occupational programs and those that are designed to prepare students for transfer to four-year colleges and universities.
New River is known for its caring faculty and staff--people who want to help you learn and succeed. In fact, I am confident that you will find NRCC to be "first rate" in its instruction, facilities, and resources.
New
River Community College is recognized throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia
as a leader in technology. The college has 40 electronic classrooms and
26 computer labs. Students are provided e-mail accounts, Internet access,
and storage space on the college's network. In recent years, the college
has also earned a number of regional and national awards for excellence
in programs and services.
Where does the "first choice" part come in? Frankly, I hope you have already realized what a special place NRCC is and that you chose to begin your postsecondary career here with us. But if that is not the case, I predict that, before you leave New River, you will wish it had been your first choice.
