A handgun safety class will be offered through New River Community College on Tuesday, August 20 and Thursday, August 22.
Both class meetings will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. in Edwards Hall room 208 at NRCC in Dublin and range time will be offered on the Saturday following the class.
The cost of the course is $60, which includes a textbook.
The six-hour classroom portion of the course, instructed by Joey Williams, is required. However, range time is optional. The class is intended for individuals who are applying for a handgun permit through the courts and will cover topics such as the nomenclature of revolvers and/or semi-automatic handguns. Participants will also learn how to care for, maintain and store their handguns.
