3-D printing workshops offered this month at NRCC

For those who have an interest in 3-D printing, New River Community College is offering 3-D printing workshops this month in Christiansburg and Dublin.

"Introduction to 3-D Printing" will feature overviews of 3-D printing history and current technology including uses of 3-D printing in education and industry. Participants will be given demonstrations, shown how to set up printers, provided tips and tricks for printing and a basic introduction to modeling software including Inventor, Space Claim and SketchUp. Future 3-D printing technologies will also be discussed. The workshop is scheduled for Wednesday, April 12, from 6 to 8 p.m. in room 148 at NRCC's Mall site in Christiansburg (4264).

The workshop is also being offered in Dublin on Thursday, April 27, from 2 to 4 p.m. at NRCC in 109 Martin Hall (#4263).

NRCC also has 3-D labs open to the public throughout the week. The lab in Dublin is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2 to 4 p.m. in 109 Martin Hall. The lab in Christiansburg is open every Monday through Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. in room 147 at the Mall site.
