Community Invited to Participate in Survey as Part of Search for New River Community College's New President

Dublin, Va. - The initial stages of the search process for a new president for New River Community College (NRCC) are now under way. As Dr. Jack M. Lewis prepares to retire as NRCC's president in December, the College and the Virginia Community College System will conduct a nationwide search for his replacement.

Members of the community are invited to provide input into the selection of the next NRCC president by participating in a brief, web-based survey. A link to the survey can be found on the College's website (https://www.cvent.com/d/pvqwz7). Responses will become part of the material considered by the New River Community College Board in the search process. The survey will be available through November 23.

Founded in 1969, New River Community College (NRCC) is one of 23 comprehensive community colleges in the Virginia Community College System. The College is located on a 100-acre campus in Dublin. It serves the counties of Floyd, Giles, Montgomery, and Pulaski, as well as the City of Radford. NRCC operates a satellite instructional site at the New River Valley Mall in Christiansburg, approximately 20 miles from campus.

In fall 2015, the College enrolled 4,477 students, with a full-time equivalent (FTE) enrollment of 2,707. It offers a broad range of transfer, career and technical, and workforce development programs.

NRCC is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award the associate degree.
