Several courses in New River Community College's "Boot Camp" series of technology workshops will be offered beginning Oct. 13 - Beginning Excel, Excel Plus and Beginning PowerPoint.
"Boot Camp: Beginning Excel" will be held on Thursday, Oct. 13, from 9 a.m. - noon in room 143 NRV Mall site, Christiansburg. Microsoft Excel is a spreadsheet program that can be used for storing, organizing and manipulating numbers and data. By the end of the seminar, participants will be able to create formulas, modify worksheets, and use features such as tables, SmartArt and page formatting.
"Boot Camp: Excel Plus" is scheduled Thursday, Oct. 27, from 9 a.m. - noon in room 143 NRV Mall site, Christiansburg. This seminar will extend the students' basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Participants will create and modify charts, examine formulas and functions, and work with styles and printing features.
"Boot Camp: Beginning PowerPoint" will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 8, from 1 - 4 p.m. in room 238 Edwards Hall at NRCC in Dublin. PowerPoint is used to create presentations, slide shows and story boards. Participants will be able to navigate through PowerPoint and create a professional looking presentation. Participants are asked to bring photos on camera, on CD or on a USB drive to use in practice documents.
