Sharper Skills Seminars at NRCC continue in April

New River Community College will host three “Sharper Skills Seminars” for business in April. Topics will include customer service, keeping good employees and Microsoft Office Specialist Certification preparation. These topics may also be of interest to those in non-profit organizations.

NRCC corporate trainer Jeanne Symanoskie will instruct each workshop at the college’s New River Valley Mall site in Christiansburg.

“Customer Service” will focus on crucial skills for employees including making a good first impression, creating a service mission statement, coping with difficult customers and developing a problem-solving attitude.

“Keeping Good Employees” will help managers understand how to connect with employees, maintain good communication, be consistent and fair and understand what employees really want.

“MOS Certification Prep: PowerPoint” will examine core concepts such as configuring options, document properties, page layout, manipulating graphics, custom slide shows and master slides.
