Free College Financial Aid Assistance Offered at Pulaski County High School February 1
|The Virginia Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (VASFAA), in conjunction with Pulaski County High School (PCHS), will host a FAFSA “Super Saturday” event on Saturday, February 1, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the PCHS English Pod area.
Super Saturday is one of VASFAA’s annual service projects where those seeking funding for a college education receive free, professional assistance in completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA is the form used by colleges, universities and career-technical schools across the country to determine eligibility for student federal and most state financial aid.
Pulaski County High School will have computers available for students and parents to apply for federal aid electronically, along with financial aid representatives to assist. The high school will also offer a “Financial Aid 101” presentation to provide an overview of federal and state resources and the financial aid application process. This event is open to high school students of all grade levels, parents, returning college students and adult students.
Students who attend the event will also have a chance to win a $100 book scholarship to be used at the winner’s college of choice during the 2014-15 academic year.
For questions about the Pulaski County High School event, contact Kathy Kleppin, PCHS career coach, at 540-643-0976 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Super FAFSA Week events are open to the public, sponsored by VASFAA, and partly funded by the College Access Challenge Grant Program. More information about Super FAFSA Week 2014 may be obtained by visiting www.vasfaa.com/super.
