Taylor-Troutman receives award; Practical nursing graduates pass board examinations
|Taylor-Troutman receives rising star award
New River Community College adjunct religion instructor Andrew Taylor-Troutman recently received the 2013 Rising Star Award for Alumni from the Lenoir-Rhyne University Alumni Association.
The award celebrates a young alumnus for outstanding professional contributions. Taylor-Troutman was recognized for his extensive graduate study, service as the pastor of New Dublin Presbyterian Church and publication of a book entitled “Take My Hand: A Theological Memoir.”
Troutman’s second book is due out in the spring of 2014.
NRCC practical nursing graduates pass board examinations
New River Community College associate professors of practical nursing Mia Copeland and LaRue Ridenhour recently received word that all 16 of the college’s most recent practical nursing program graduates have passed their Virginia Board of Nursing examinations, making them licensed practical nurses.
The students received their certificates and participated at a pinning ceremony in July. They are Shaunna Leigh Andrews of Radford, Janessa Kaye Bolt of Willis, Natalie Dawn Breeden of Dublin, Casey Jean Calfee of Radford, Vickie Hill Harvey of Radford, Rhonda Lynn Hungate of Bland, Shannon Nicole Jarels of Blacksburg, Brandy Avants Kastilahn of Radford, Haley Danielle Lawson of Pulaski, Ashley Linette Ligon of Blacksburg, Kristen Ann Litton of Wytheville, Cynthia Ann Miles of Blacksburg, Amy Jo Plaugher of Blacksburg, Cynthia Lea Dame Reed of Christiansburg, Stephani Michelle Richards of Radford and Rechell LeeAnn Williams of Radford.
