Leadership workshops offered at NRCC in March
|Four workshops in supervisory leadership will be offered at New River Community College in Dublin in March.
The workshops are part of the NRCC Office of Workforce Development’s “Leadership in Action” series and will cover coaching as a leader, managing generations, conducting effective performance evaluations, employee discipline and documentation, conflict resolution and boosting motivation and morale.
“Coaching as a Leader/Managing Generations” will be held on Tuesday, March 5, and will help participants understand the role of coaching versus managing, grasp the skills required to coach effectively, understand generational issues and learn how to effectively communicate with each generation.
“Conducting Effective Performance Evaluations” will be held on Tuesday, March 12, and will show participants how to identify and set “SMART” performance standards, comprehend the performance management process, review legal compliance issues and conduct evaluation meetings.
In “Employee Discipline and Documentation/Conflict Resolution,” held on Tuesday, March 19, participants will explore the difference between job performance and work habit issues, understand the need for good documentation, understand sources of conflict and learn the pros and cons of conflict resolution.
“Boosting Motivation and Morale” will be held on Tuesday, March 26, and will examine the myths of employee motivation, discuss how to establish an environment that boosts motivation and morale and explore ways to involve staff in goal setting, problem-solving and decision making.
