NRCC offers GED and career prep classes in Radford
|GED preparation and career and computer preparation classes are in session in Radford at the Virginia Workforce Center inside the Radford office of the Virginia Employment Commission (206 Third Avenue) and at the Radford Public Library (30 1st Street). Students may enter the sessions anytime throughout the semester.
The GED prep classes will cover math, social studies, science and language arts (reading and writing) topics necessary to prepare students to take the official GED test.
Career and computer preparation classes help students gain basic computer skills, learn how to prepare a resume and perform job searches in order to become better prepared for employment.
Class schedules are:
Virginia Workforce Center (Radford VEC Office): Mondays and Fridays, 9 to 11:15 a.m., through May 25.
Radford Public Library: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6 to 8:15 p.m., through May 24.
Career and Computer Preparation:
Virginia Workforce Center (Radford VEC Office): Tuesdays and Thursdays 9 to 11:30 a.m., March 27 through May 10.
NRCC is also an Official GED Testing Center and has multiple testing dates available in March, April, May and June at the campus in Dublin and the collegeís site inside the New River Valley Mall in Christiansburg. In 2011, over 200 individuals chose New River Community Collegeís GED testing services on their pathway to earning a GED diploma.
