NRCC to offer computer workshops

| New River Community College will host several computer workshops in the coming months, with basic courses beginning in February. One-day workshops to be held next month include: “Intro to PCs” on Friday, February 10, “Windows” on Friday, February 17 and “Beginning Word” on Friday, February 24. “Intro to PCs” (ITEC 1101-C1) is for home users of the PC and will guide those who have little or no experience with computers through very basic concepts and essential skills. “Windows” (ITEC 1102-C1) is designed for students with some knowledge of the PC and focuses on the functions the Windows operating system performs and how those functions affect other applications. “Beginning Word” (ITEC 1103-C1) introduces students to general word processing concepts and topics including editing, moving/copying text, formatting characters and paragraphs, and controlling page layout. Each course will meet from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in Edwards Hall at NRCC in Dublin. Tuition is $109 per course, which includes a textbook. Students will receive a certificate and .55 CEUs upon completion.
