MOS Certification: Just the FAQs

Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certification is recognized globally as the premier credential chosen by individuals seeking to validate their knowledge, skills and abilities relating to the Microsoft Office applications. This seminar will explore the competencies necessary for obtaining MOS certification, finding practice tests, and becoming certified. Please preregister for seminar.

MOS Certification: Practice Makes Perfect

This seminar (2 hours) will allow you to take a MOS practice test and ask questions regarding related material. Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certification is recognized globally as the premier credential chosen by individuals seeking to validate their knowledge, skills and abilities relating to the Microsoft Office applications. Preregistration is required.

MOS Certification: Exam Date

In this session certification exams will be administered to individuals who have purchased an exam voucher through New River Community College bookstore. Each exam is 50 to 60 minutes in length. Preregistration is required.

MOS Certification Prep: Word

This hands-on seminar (2 hours) will focus on reviewing and teaching the core concepts related to the Microsoft Office Specialist Word exam. Core concepts may include the following: protection, document properties, settings to paragraphs, page layout, quick parts, manipulating graphics, creating endnotes, footnotes, indexes, and table of contents, tracking changes, and mail merge. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word is essential. Preregistration is required one week prior to seminar date.

MOS Certification Prep: Excel

This hands-on seminar (2 hours) will focus on reviewing and learning the core concepts related to the Microsoft Office Specialist Excel exam. Core concepts may include the following: protection, document properties, using Backstage, AutoFill, formatting, page layout, manipulating graphics, formulas, conditional logic, named ranges, creating and manipulating charts, comments, and conditional formatting. Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel is essential. Preregistration is required one week prior to seminar date.

MOS Certification Prep: PowerPoint

This hands-on seminar (2 hours) will focus on reviewing and learning the core concepts related to the Microsoft Office Specialist PowerPoint exam. Core concepts may include the following: configuring options, document properties, photo albums, page layout, manipulating graphics, reusing slides, recording presentation, custom slide shows, and master slides. Working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint is essential. Preregistration is required one week prior to seminar date.
