International Furniture Market - 2005

A group of 11 students traveled to High Point, NC on April 17 for the International Furniture Market. They left at 7:30 am from NRCC and returned at 6:00 pm. It was a busy, exciting day of seeing vendors and buyers coming together in the biggest furniture market in the world. There were many opportunities to see selling, promotions, advertising, and sponsorships at the vendor’s booths.

Students walked miles and miles that day trying to see the sellers that came from all 50 states and 110 countries around the world. Retail companies (more than 23,000) come to purchase home furnishings at the market, where manufacturers choose to introduce their new products, new styles, new finishes and new concepts. High Point is the market where people and businesses come to see it first, buy it first, and sell it first.

New River Valley Job Fair Expo - 2005

This years' job expo featured 72 booths covering a vast range of employment opportunities. Many of our students prepared themselves by having a complete resume ready as well as dressing the part. This is a fine example of networking and a chance to prepare for the working world.
