Wednesday, November 4, 2009:

-Baseball Hamburger/Hotdog sale- 11:00am-1:00pm in Godbey Hall. Thank you for your support!

- PBL will sponsor a new & used book sale On Wednesday & Thursday in Godbey hall/ the Lounge from 11:00 am to 1:00pm. Lots of great titles for the lowest prices anywhere!

- The Martial Arts club will meet from 6:00pm to 8pm at the Dublin Fairgrounds. For information about the martial arts club, contact Michael Breen at mjb2724@email.vccs.edu

Thursday, November 5, 2009:

-The Women’s Volleyball team will play Virginia Western Community College at 7:00pm at the Pulaski Church of God on Bobwhite Boulevard. Admission is $2.00 per person.  Go Lady Knights!

- The Student Government Association will hold a meeting in Godbey 130 starting at 11 am. They will also take a group picture this day.  For information about the SGA, contact Ben Kramer at bkramer@nr.edu

Friday, November 6, 2009:

The SGA and selected student leaders will attend the Virginia Community College Student Leadership Conference held at the Hotel Roanoke from Friday November 6 to Sunday November 8, 2009.

Monday, November 9, 2009:
-Books Are Fun Book Fair will be held in the Student Lounge from 9:30pm to 3:00 pm.  This event is sponsored by Phi Theta Kappa.

-Lamours Gifts will have a table selling jewelry and novelty gift items in Godbey hall Monday Tuesday and Wednesday from 9 am to 3pm each day. This event is sponsored by Phi Beta Lambda.

-Radford University advisors will be in Dublin to talk to prospective RU students on Monday from 9:00 am to 2:00pm in Rooker Lobby.

-The men’s and women’s basketball teams will hold a pizza sale in Godbey hall from 11:00am to 1:00pm today.
-The Women’s Volleyball team will play Wytheville Community College at the Pulaski Church of God at Bobwhite Boulevard at 7:00pm. Admission to the game is $2.00 This is their final home game of the season. Go Lady Knights! For information about this team, contact Coach Amanda Allen at aallen@nr.edu

-Louise Wade, a retired NRCC counselor, will be on campus Tuesday, November 10, with her new book “Melody’s Gift: An Inspirational Story of a Family’s Determination that Neither Cerebral Palsy or Mental Retardation Would Silence Melody’s Song.” The book  tells how  the personal  and professional lives of Louise and Jack Wade were shaped raising their daughter, Melody.  She will sell and sign the book in the student lounge from 3 to 7 p.m.  The cost of the book is $22.  Profits from “Melody’s Gift” will be given to the USA Association of Retarded Citizens, Camp Virginia Jaycee and Craig Springs Camp. Wednesday, November 11, 2009: Veteran’s Day

-NRCC Student Activities will hold a veteran’s day observance in the Student Lounge starting at 11 am.  This event will honor the service & sacrifice of our US military veterans and also remember our former Veterans advisor, Ms. Pat McPeak. There will be a reception for all in the lounge right after the  service.

-There will be a meeting of the NRCC Fiddle & Banjo Club in Edwards Hall from 5:00pm to 9:00pm. This month features a Veteran’s Appreciation event at 7:30pm focusing on appreciating Vietnam Veterans.  Admission is free, but donations are appreciated.  Lots of great bluegrass music! This event is a community favorite! For details, contact Roger Adkins at radkins@nr.edu

The NRCC Men’s Basketball team will play Lord Fairfax at 6:00pm in Winchester, VA. Go Knights! They will then travel to Fredericksburg to spend the night for their next game.

Sunday, November 15, 2009:
-The NRCC men’s basketball team will play Germanna Community College at 11:00am in Fredericksburg.  Go Knights!
