National Children’s Day

Sky watchers: You can watch the moon rise & fall near Mercury and Venus every evening during the month of October, 2009.

The Human Service and Early Childhood Development Organization will have a BBQ sandwich sale in Godbey Hall from 11:00 am to 1:00pm. For details about this sale or the organization, contact Bonnie Graham at bgraham@nr.edu

Robbin Thompson will perform a musical concert in Richardson Auditorium, Rooker Hall from 1:30pm to 2:30pm. Friday,  October 9, 2009:

NRCC Student ID cards will be made from 8:00 am to 5:00pm at the Mall site in Christiansburg. ID cards are free for students, but you must have an emplid number and show another form of ID to Ben Kramer when making them.  Each ID card takes approximately 2 minutes to make.  For more information about NRCC Student ID cards,  contact Ben Kramer at bkramer@nr.edu

Saturday, October 10, 2009:

The Cheerleading Team will practice at the Dublin Fairgrounds Gym from 4:00pm to 6:00pm. For more information about the cheerleading team, contact Coach Belinda Nuckols at bnuckols@nr.edu

Sunday, October 11, 2009:

The Soccer team will meet at the NRV Mall site in Christiansburg at 8:00 am to travel to Lord Fairfax Community College to play a game against the LFCC Cannons that afternoon at 2:00pm.  Go Knights!

Monday October 12, 2009:

All club cookie dough sale brochures and order forms with their funds collected are due in the Student Activities office by 4:00pm .  Please contact Ben Kramer at bkramer@nr.edufor details about this brochure sale. Thank you for your support of all NRCC Clubs and sports teams!

PTK will hold an “Oktoberfest” fundraiser party in the Lounge from 10:00am-1:00pm. There will be hotdogs, other food and games with prizes. Come join the fun!  For more information about PTK, please contact Brian Clark at Bclark@nr.edu.

There will be no day or evening classes because of designated “Faculty Research Days”. Some offices will remain open during this time, and some will contract their service hours. Please call ahead to be sure of availability (540-674-3600). The NRCC Bookstore is also closed Wednesday-Friday this week for inventory.
