Beginners Knitting Class At NRCC

The younger populations of today’s society have lost touch with some of the basic things. How many of us can make a pie from scratch without a recipe? Or sew our own clothing? We have become very spoiled and used to getting things immediately. It’s time to get back to our roots and learn about the important things! New River is offering a Beginners Knitting class at the Mall Site room 135. October 8th through November 19th, on Thursday nights from 6:30- 8:30 you can start knitting your scarves, hats or whatever you choose in preparation for the winter ahead.

Our teacher will be Christy Savage and she will be focusing on the basic stitches and techniques of knitting, also, how to read patterns.  Each student will be completing a project of their choosing with patterns provided on site.

This could be the opportunity to learn an excellent craft! Think of how much money you’ll save on Christmas gifts alone, when all you have to do is buy a ball of yarn! Let’s take some time to learn a craft that’s slipping away and use it to our advantage. Time to stick those hands in there and start knitting!
