Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or the equivalency of experience with a minimum two years working in a supervisory role in a technology support environment. Proven job experience or knowledge in the following areas: managing an IT call center/help desk; functioning as an Information Security Administrator; managing an enterprise level active directory; managing a hardware installation and maintenance team; managing a software installation, configuration and support team; managing enterprise endpoint protection; managing an automated patch management system; and managing the IT hardware and software procurement process.
Master's degree in Computer Science or related field. Proven experience managing a technology support team in a college environment. Experience with a third generation data management/reporting language such as SAS.
This position directs, supervises and performs all activities in the Technology Services department which reports to the Director of Information Technology. This position is involved with the planning and implementation of all the College's computer hardware and software packages in Dublin and Christiansburg. These activities include the procurement of computers, computer related equipment, telephones and related equipment, procurement of computer software, installation of software, problem solving, initial training in the use of hardware and software, computer programming and many other activities related to computers and telephones. This position also serves as information security administrator.
