Intramurals
Fall 2008 intramural tournaments will be held in Ping Pong, Chess, and Pool. Information about Fall intramurals will be added in August 2008.
The 2008 NRCC lounge Ping Pong Tournament was held Wednesday, February 27 at 2:00 p.m. The students who participated were John Robert Clarke, Isaac Jackson, Keith Hicks, Chad Strickland, Chad Thompson, "Dale D., III", and Andrew Anderson. Activities Counselor Ben Kramer made up the 8th contestant. The winners were: Isaac Jackson, 3rd place, Chad Thompson, 2nd place, and Chad Strickland, 1st place. Mitiku Gelagai also assisted with, and enjoyed the tournament. A great time was had by all players. We may even mount a plaque in the lounge with the winners names for this semester! The Spring 2008 Chess Tournament was held in the Lounge in Martin Hall at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, 
February 28th. The students who participated in it were: Adam French, Derek Hinkley, Anthony Southern, Constantine Levin, John Robert Clarke, and Yong Yi. Adam, Yong, and Constantine won the first matches, and competed in a round robin style tournament to determine the champions. Heather Whitlock enjoyed watching the tournament with others. Adam French earned third place, Yong Yi earned second place, and Constantine Levin was the NRCC chess champion for Spring 2008! Prizes given were Lounge Glory, which lasts forever, and Wal-Mart gift cards of $10, $15, and $25 in value. All had a great time, as seen in pictures on the right click on to see large image.
The Spring 2008 NRCC Lounge Pool Tournament was held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 29, 2008. The participants were: Derek Hinkley, Tim Herzog, Yong Yi, David Singleton, Keran Billaud, Thomas Craig, Keith Hicks, and Daniel Banasik. Derek, David, Daniel, and Keran all won their first round matches. Then Derek and David played, with Derek winning the match for the final round play. Daniel bested Keran for the final round play as well. Daniel won the championship. Tim replaced Keran who had to go to class, played David for third, and won. All the participants had a great time playing pool! Lounge glory was shared by all! See large image click on the picture.
