The men’s baseball team at New River Community College plays in the National Junior Collegiate Athletic Association (NJCAA) as a division II team within region 10. Tryouts are held the second week of fall classes. The top 30 players who also qualify academically will be selected for the team roster. A limited schedule is played in the fall. If open positions are available, additional players may try out prior to the spring semester. Practices will start the first day of the spring semester. The regular season begins in February and runs through the first weekend in May. All of the players must maintain a 2.0 cumulative and semester GPA and must be enrolled as a full time student taking at least 12 credits at all times during the fall and spring semesters of team activity.
