Baseball

Baseball is one of the intercollegiate sports programs at NRCC. The team is a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 10 as a club team this year and will move to full-time membership in 2012. Tryouts are held the second week of fall classes. The top 30 players who also qualify academically will be selected for the team. Players may have an opportunity to try out again in the spring if spots are available. Practices will start the first day of the spring semester. The regular season begins in February and runs through the first weekend in May. All of the players must have 2.0 cumulative grade point averages, and must be enrolled for at least 12 credits at all times during fall practice or the spring season in order to play any baseball games. For more information, please contact Coach Wes Adcock in Godbey Hall, room 39, or by calling (540) 674-3600, ext. 4461, or by e-mailing him at wadcock@nr.edu.

NRCC Student Activities will offer a men’s baseball team and women’s softball team during the 2012-2013 academic year.  Club sports in basketball, volleyball, soccer and cheerleading are being discontinued. I  look forward to building the two sports we will offer this year through our affiliation with the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).  Ben Kramer, Student Activities Counselor
