All students interested in playing in a chess tournament are invited to the lounge on Monday, Sept. 26, at 2:30 p.m. There are no advance sign-ups for this event. Single elimination games will be held until the tournament winner is decided. There are three prizes offered:

rd place: $10.00 Walmart gift card

nd place: $15.00 Walmart gift card
1
st place: $25.00 Walmart gift card
Consolation prizes are also given to those who do not advance (NRCC license plate frame).

All students interested in chess, ping pong , Madden NFL 10, and pool are invited to sign up for tournaments to be held in the lounge this fall. Sign-up sheet s are posted on the bulletin board in the lounge, or you may contact the Student Activities office by Friday, September 24, at 4 p.m. to enter one or more of the tournaments. These are single elimination-style tournaments with the winner being the person who wins 2 of 3 games. Winners will receive a gift card or alternate prize of equal value: $25.00 (first place), $15.00(second place), and $10.00 (third place).
- Ping Pong will be held on Monday, Septmber 27, at 2:30 p.m.
- Chess will be held Monday, September 27, at 3:30 p.m.
- Billiards/Pool will be held Wednesday, September 29, at 2:30 p.m.
- Madden NFL 10 will be held Friday, October 1, at noon
All tournaments will be held in the Student Lounge in Martin Hall. Matches will be posted prior to each tournament start. All tournaments will be sponsored by the Student Activities Office, which means there is no fee to participate or for use of the equipment! All participants must accept that the tournaments are played at their own risk of injury. So please be careful! Questions about the tournaments can be answered by Ben Kramer.
