Two-Semester (One-Year) Program

Purpose

The rapid growth of technology and the use of electronic equipment have increased the demand for well-trained administrative support assistants. This program is designed to train basic level word processing and information support practitioners for the technological demands of the office.

Occupational Objectives

Office and Administrative Support Assistant.
Office Clerk.
Word Processor and Typist.
Receptionist and Information Clerk.
Data Entry Keyer.
Billing, Cost, and Rate Clerk.

Admission Requirements

Applicant must meet the general requirements for admission to the college.

Program Requirements

The program requires the student to take courses in English, psychology, orientation, and computer information systems, in addition to the required courses needed for job competence in word processing activities. Upon completion of the two-semester program, the student will be awarded a Certificate in Word Processing.
