International Association of Administrative Professionals
The student chapter of the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) is an organization for students interested in working in an office setting. The student chapter is sponsored by the New River Valley Chapter of IAAP and has the same mission, purpose, objective, and vision.
Mission
To be the acknowledged, recognized leader of administrative professionals and to enhance their individual and collective value, image, competence, and influence.
Purpose
To provide information, education, and training as well as to set standards of excellence recognized by the business community from a global perspective.
Objective
To elevate the standards of all administrative professionals and to promote their working relationships with management through continuing education, authorized programs, and publications.
Vision
To inspire and equip all administrative professionals to attain excellence.
IAAP Meetings
The student chapter of IAAP meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 11:00 a.m. in Godbey 180.
Benefits of Joining IAAP
At the monthly meetings of IAAP, students hear guest speakers from local businesses and colleges. Topics vary each month and may include information on job search skills, business etiquette, proofreading and editing skills, etc.
